Mr. Jacob Hunter

High School Advisor

Mr. Hunter is from DeWitt, IA, and was a '07 graduate from Central DeWitt High School. He then continued his education at Iowa State University studying Agriculture and Life Science Education. Mr. Jacob Hunter was the former Director of Iowa Education Programs at the World Food Prize. He has had 7 years of experience being an Agricultural Teacher and FFA Advisor. In 2018, he was named Iowa State's Emerging Leader. In 2019, he earned both the Southeast Region’s I.O.W.A. STEM Teacher Award from the Iowa Governor's STEM Advisory Council and the Nationwide’s Golden Owl Award for the Southeast District of Iowa. 

In 2020, Mr. Hunter is also working on his Master's in Education from the Harvard Graduate School Education in School Leadership.

Mr. Hunter has been with the North Scott School District for 5 years.

Mr. Andrew Sauer

Junior High Advisor

Mr. Sauer grew up on an acreage northwest of Wilton, IA and attended Wilton High School where he participated in the FFA program. After high school Mr. Sauer went to college at Iowa State University studying Ag Education. Before North Scott he worked with two other ag programs. In 2019 he enlisted in the US Marine Corps and is also currently serving in a unit based in Des Moines, IA. Mr. Sauer enjoys livestock production and the hands-on aspect that takes place to provide purpose and tangible results. His favorite part of FFA is the experiences including trips that expose people to the world around us. While at North Scott he is looking forward to serving the ag program and is excited to watch the students and members grow.
